Building a data engineering team for a high-growth fintech.

Challenge

A fast-growing South African fintech needed to build a data engineering function from scratch. The business had reached a scale where ad hoc analytics were no longer sufficient, and the founding team lacked the time and network to run a rigorous technical hiring process. They needed a recruiter who could assess candidates at a technical level, not just match job titles.

Approach

We took a detailed technical brief from the CTO, mapped the specific stack requirements, and conducted a targeted search across our data engineering network. Every candidate was assessed against the technical requirements before being presented. We ran the full process, from initial outreach to offer management, allowing the CTO to focus on the business.
